The St. Thomas Police have charged a 21 year old male following an incident that occurred on Confederation Drive Wednesday.
Police report that around 5:47 a.m. they were called to 88 Confederation Drive after a male wielding a baseball bat started striking a vehicle occupied by three people, smashing the front windshield.
When the first officer arrived they observed the suspect with the baseball bat and as the officer approached the scene, he noticed the occupants in the vehicle were in harm’s way.
The officer drew his Taser and the suspect immediately dropped the weapon and laid down on the roadway.
Investigation revealed that the vehicles occupants were known to the suspect and had been there waiting to purchase illicit drugs from him when the incident occurred.
Further investigation revealed the suspect was on court imposed conditions not to possess weapons. The 21 year old man was transported to the police station and charged with Mischief and Failing to Comply with conditions of a recognizance of bail issued in May.
