After almost three weeks of steadily increasing confirmed COVID-19 cases, the number of new cases now appears on the decline. The number peaked at the end of July, however over the past three days there have only been two new cases reported with none today (Saturday).
In contrast, Southwestern Public Health is reporting eight cases resolved today with another seven on Friday, bringing to 172 the number of resolved cases in the health unit’s coverage area.
As of this morning, there are 51 ongoing cases with 27 in Aylmer, 13 in Bayham, six in Tillsonburg and five in St. Thomas. One individual was admitted to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Aug. 11.
The number of ongoing cases in the Southwestern Public Health’s coverage area is now three times greater than the confirmed cases reported by the Middlesex-London Health Unit.
