No matter how good your golf game, there is no way you’re going to hit a ball over 42,000 yards. But what if you drove about 170 golf balls that distance. That’s the premise behind Driving Fore Dollars, a fundraiser for Pearce-Williams Summer Camp as they cope with the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Johann Kinting, the founder and director of Junior Golf at Iron Creek will be teeing off Aug. 28 from the first tee at the course and hitting balls the equivalent distance to Pearce-Williams.
Kinting says Pearce Williams truly is a community that benefits all ages, and hitting 170 or so golf balls about 39 kilometres is an appropriate way to show his appreciation.
Joe Richards, the camp’s executive director, explains how Driving Fore Dollars works.
Lindsey Feltis adds Pearce Williams Summer Camp gives young people the opportunity to become the best version of themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
