A 32 year old St. Thomas man has been charged with resisting arrest after refusing to come out of a house he fled into Saturday morning on First Ave.
Police report that an officer on patrol observed the male who they knew was wanted on a committal warrant outside the home around 4:30 a.m.
The officer approached the male when he fled towards the house, refusing to come out. Police then secured the perimeter of the house so he could not escape and police applied for a Feeney warrant, which allows officers to enter a residence where an accused is hiding.
Almost 5 hours later at around 9 a.m., with the assistance of the K9 unit, entry was made into the house where the male subject was located hiding in the attic.
The 32 year old has additionally been charged with resisting arrest and will be appearing at a court date in the future for that specific charge.
