Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate the death of a 55 year old man in Elgin County. According to the SIU, Elgin County OPP officers attended the man’s home on August 28th to check on his well-being. At that time the male was transported to hospital.
On August 31st, OPP officers returned to the males home to check on his well-being at the request of the family. Officers report that there was no response, however they did hear the volume of music playing from the home increase, and eventually left.
The following day, police were asked again to check on the man’s well-being as he hadn’t shown up for work. When the man didn’t answer the door, officers forced entry into the home and located the 55 year old deceased.
At this time, three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case and an autopsy was scheduled for this morning in London.
