Once again, Southwestern Public Health is reporting no increase in COVID-19 cases in their region. Along with that, comes the news of 2 resolved cases, 1 each in both Aylmer and Bayham, bringing the total of active cases to just a hand full.
There are now 5 cases remaining in the health units coverage area with 3 in Aylmer, 1 in Bayham and 1 in Woodstock.
Of the ongoing cases, 2 individuals contracted the virus as a result of close contact, 1 via workplace contact, 1 from travel and 1 unknown transmission.
There are still 254 cumulative cases across the SWPH region, with 244 now resolved.
Ontario is reporting 132 new cases of COVID-19 today, with the bulk of the new diagnoses concentrated in the Greater Toronto Area.
Health Minister Christine Elliott tweeted that the city itself recorded 31 new cases, with neighbouring Peel region reporting 45.
Elliott says 22 new cases were identified in Ottawa, but all other health regions in the province recorded 5 or fewer new cases in the past 24 hours.
The province did not report any new deaths associated with the virus.
