While it won’t be quite like last fall, the ice is going back into the Joe Thornton Community Centre. However Memorial Arena will be ice-free for the time being.
Ross Tucker, director of parks, recreation and property management, has this update on the status of the two ice pads at the arena.
Tucker says enjoying a public skate or a stroll around the walking track is some time off yet.
Tucker adds, at this time, hockey games will not be allowed and the ice time is limited to practices. He anticipates competitive games will begin in December.
The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League teams, which includes the St. Thomas Stars, have determined Wednesday, Dec 2 as the opening night for the upcoming regular season.
