The St. Thomas Police were called in to assist the St. Thomas Fire Department on Friday morning following a vehicle fire that occurred around 7 a.m.
When crews arrived on scene the vehicle was fully engulfed but the blaze was quickly extinguished by fire fighters.
The fire was initially deemed suspicious as the inoperable vehicle had been parked in the same location for several months before catching fire.
However, further investigation revealed that a lit cigarette flicked into the back seat through an open window sparked the blaze.
