A 41 year old St. Thomas man is facing multiple charges after he was found unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle in Aylmer on Friday.
Aylmer Police report that they received a complaint about the unconscious male driver on Hawthorne Ave and located him slumped over the steering wheel with the vehicle parked near the middle of the street and running.
Police say the 41 year old male exhibited obvious signs of impairment and EMS was contacted and he was transported to the St. Thomas Hospital for treatment.
Drug paraphernalia and drugs suspected to be Purple Fentanyl was located by the officer and further investigation revealed he was also a suspended driver.
As a result, he was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid, and Driving while under suspension.
