Big Brothers Big Sisters St. Thomas – Elgin is holding their 5th annual big ball drop on Saturday, September 19th at Pleasant Valley Trout Farm.
The drop will be taking place at 2 p.m. and will see 2,500 numbered golf balls dropped from a crane onto a makeshift green. The ball that lands into or closest to the hole will win $2,000. Everyone who purchases a ball will also be entered into a draw to win a $1,500 Visa Card.
Executive Director Barb Matthews says that funds raised will help support their mentoring programs as 42 kids are waiting to be matched in our community.
Matthews says the COVID-19 pandemic has put a damper on fundraisers and events so far this year.
