If you are not exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, you are being urged not to visit the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital assessment centre for testing.
The direction from Dr. Joyce Lock, Medical Officer of Health at Southwestern Public Health is a result of the need to prioritize so that individuals in need of testing are dealt with in a timely fashion.
If you do have symptoms and require a test then you are encouraged to book an appointment with the assessment centre. If you are a close contact of a positive case, the health unit will call you with directions to book a test.
The assessment centre is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. To book an appointment, you can call 519-631-2030 ext. 6210.
