The individual charged in Friday’s fatal crash on Highbury Avenue has been identified as Tyler Besterd, 23, of St. Thomas. He is scheduled to appear in London court today (Monday) via video to answer to the charges.

A two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon claimed the life of a 35-year-old St. Thomas woman and a city man has been charged with impaired driving as a result.
The crash happened about 5:20 p.m. on Highbury Avenue near Glanworth Drive. The female motorist died at the scene.
A 23-year-old St. Thomas man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He has been charged with impaired driving causing death and driving with a blood-alcohol reading of more than 80 mg. He is in custody awaiting a court date.
Police have not yet released the names of the two individuals.
