Port Stanley will be welcoming some guests into the village for the remainder of the week as Maine Street Productions moves in to film for a television series.
The County of Elgin reports that over the next few days, Port Stanley will be transformed into a fictional town for a television series, with moments of traffic and active transportation stoppages expected.
Alan Smith General Manager of Economic Development says Elgin County and Port Stanley specifically, has become quite the hotspot for filming over the years.
Filming is expected to take place along Colborne Street between Matilda Street to Charlotte Street on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 p.m to 5 a.m., and the full closure of Bridge Street between Colborne Street and Colonel Bostwick Street will occur on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
There may also be minor disruptions along the west end of Edith Cavell Boulevard for staging of equipment near Erie Rest Beach on Thursday and Friday.
Residents may also notice a revolving light over the harbour north of the lift bridge simulating a lighthouse overnight on Wednesday and Thursday.
It is reported that the show filming in the village is season 2 of Netflix’s Original Series Locke & Key, that is set in the fictional town of Matheson.
