Ontario is reporting 948 new cases of COVID-19 this morning (Monday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of 12 new cases and one resolved. Eleven of the new cases are in Bayham and the other is in SW Oxford.
SWPH reports that the spike in cases is due to an outbreak at a series of congregate living settings. Stayed tuned to myFM for more on this as the health unit expects another significant increase in the case count.
There are now 29 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 12 in Bayham, 11 in Woodstock, two in Tillsonburg and single cases in Aylmer, St. Thomas, Ingersoll and SW Oxford.
There are no hospitalizations at this time.
There is an ongoing case involving a staff member at Secord Trails in Ingersoll.
Twenty-one of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with four of those under 20 years of age.
The number of resolved cases climbs to 303.
Across the province, there are 315 new cases in Toronto, 269 in Peel, 81 in York Region and 64 in Ottawa. There are 826 more resolved cases and over 27,900 tests completed.
