Ontario is reporting 998 new cases of COVID-19 this morning (Thursday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of 2 new cases, one each in Bayham and Aylmer, with five resolved.
There are now 46 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 35 in Bayham, four in Woodstock, two in Tillsonburg and Norwich and single cases in Aylmer, St. Thomas, and SW Oxford.
One individual is hospitalized in the ICU.
There is an ongoing case involving a staff member at Secord Trails in Ingersoll.
Thirty-three of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with two of those under 20 years of age.
The number of resolved cases climbs to 313.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital conducted 180 tests Tuesday.
Back to the Ontario numbers today, there are 350 new cases in Toronto, 269 in Peel and 71 in York Region. There are 948 more resolved cases and nearly 35,800 tests completed.
