Elgin OPP have notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit which has invoked its mandate following a three-vehicle collision Thursday.
Just before 10:30 p.m., a pick-up truck identified in an impaired driving complaint made to the OPP was later involved in a collision involving a transport truck and a car on Imperial Road at Ron McNeil Line in Malahide Township.
The driver and lone occupant of the pick-up truck was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver and lone occupant of the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the transport truck was not injured in the collision.
Police are continuing with their investigation.
