Ontario is reporting 1,418 new cases of COVID-19 this morning (Friday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of 2 new cases, one each in Aylmer and Woodstock. Six cases have been resolved.
There are 61 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 21 in Woodstock, 17 in Norwich, 10 in Aylmer, four in St. Thomas and Tillsonburg, three in Ingersoll with single cases in Bayham and East Zorra-Tavistock.
Three students have tested positive at Assumption Catholic Elementary School in Aylmer.
Bethany Care Home in Norwich has an outbreak with 3 residents testing positive.
There are three hospitalizations at this time, none in ICU.
Forty-one of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those 14 are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 411.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 185 tests on Wednesday.
