Ontario reported 1,589 new cases of COVID-19 today (Monday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of 11 new cases, including two in Aylmer and one in Central Elgin. Nine cases have been resolved.
There are 62 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 22 in Woodstock, 12 in Norwich, 10 in Aylmer, five in St. Thomas and Ingersoll, three in Tillsonburg, 2 in Central Elgin, with single cases in Bayham, Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra.
Three students have tested positive at Assumption Catholic Elementary School in Aylmer.
Bethany Care Home in Norwich has an outbreak with 3 residents and one staff member testing positive.
There are three hospitalizations at this time, none in ICU.
Forty-one of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those 14 are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 429.
