In anticipation of the Southwestern Public Health region moving into the COVID-19 Orange-Restrict zone last week, the health unit suspended short-term absences and overnight absences for residents at long-term care homes and retirement homes.
Medical officer of health, Dr. Joyce Lock says this is due to more evidence of community transmission and more tests coming back as positive.
Dr. Lock, explains who can these visit these homes.
These restrictions will be in effect for at least 28 days.
