Following months of planning and preparations, the group behind the “A Thrill of Hope” stationary parade is calling it a huge success!
From opening on Friday at 4 p.m. to close on Sunday at 9 p.m., roughly 4,650 vehicles (14,000 people) attended Pinafore Park to take in the displays from 39 local groups, organizations and businesses.
Thanks to the work of MPP Jeff Yurek, MP Karen Vecchio and their teams, as well as Mayor Joe Preston, the St. Thomas Fire Department, the St. Thomas Police, Optimist Club of St. Thomas and dozens of volunteers, the joy of the holiday season was definitely felt throughout Elgin-Middlesex-London.
All food collected at the parade’s entrance has been donated to Christmas Care, with monetary donations being counted this week.
