The Thames Valley District School Board has announced a positive case of COVID-19 coming out of Parkside Collegiate Institute in St. Thomas.
The positive case was confirmed by Southwestern Public Health and Thames Valley immediately notified staff, and parents and guardians of all Parkside Collegiate Institute students. The TVDSB has said that Parkside will remain open and school buses will continue to operate.
SWPH is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying close contacts.
SWPH investigators will only contact students and staff identified as a close contacts. If someone is not contacted by the SWPH investigators, they are not considered to be at risk.
There are now 7 active COVID-19 cases linked to schools in Elgin/St. Thomas, with 4 at East Elgin Secondary School in Aylmer 1 at Elgin Court Public School in St. Thomas and 1 at Forest Park Public School in St. Thomas.
