A 47 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested for Impaired Driving after causing a gas leak on Maple Street Wednesday night.
Police report that the man struck a gas meter attached to his neighbours home as he pulled into the laneway, causing the line to break and natural gas to leak.
Officers that attended the scene discovered that the man was impaired and took him into custody and transported him to the police station where breath samples taken indicated the man had over twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The 47 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with Operation While Impaired by Alcohol and Operation While Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus.
He was later released on an Appearance Notice for court.
