The Aylmer Police have charged a 57 year old resident under the Re-Opening Ontario Act after they were identified as the organizer of a large gathering in the town on Wednesday.
Police say that on January 6th around 2:40 p.m., officers attempted to serve a summons to a male residing on Hawthorne Crescent in Aylmer for the offence in relation to the current emergency orders.
The male made contact with police and asked to be served the summons at the Church of God, located on John St. North.
When officers attended the location, they were met by approximately 100 people in the parking lot of the church.
An investigation revealed that the gathering was organized by the male set to receive the summons and as a result the 57 year old has been charged with Host an Event Exceeding Number Permitted Under Continued Section 7.0.2 Order, contrary to Re-Opening Ontario Act 10.1(1).
