The latest housing numbers are in from the London and St. Thomas Association of Realtors, who rounded out the year with another record breaking month for residential sales.
In addition, the December stats add to a very impressive year for LSTAR who saw their second best year for home sales.
LSTAR reports that 596 homes exchanged hands in the region, which represents their best results ever for December, since data tracking began in 1978.
Out of the 596 houses sold last month by LSTAR 440 were single-family homes, 76 were townhouses and 52 were apartments.
In St. Thomas, the average sale price for a home in December 2020 was $440,557, up 10.6% from 2019.
Despite the notable price increases, LSTAR states that homes in our area continue to remain relatively affordable when compared to houses from some other major Ontario and Canadian centres.
