A St. Thomas woman is facing 9 fraud charges after she was caught scamming several people through an online advertisement where she pretended to sell a freezer.
The St. Thomas Police say 31 year old Samantha Case was arrested Friday afternoon following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Unit.
Police say when potential buyers would contacted the woman she would request a deposit be sent to hold the freezer. Once she received the money, all communications would cease and the buyer would never receive the fictitious freezer.
As a result, Case has been charged with Fraud Under $5000 x9 and was later released on an Undertaking with a court date.
