In school learning resumes today for elementary students within the Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School Board.
Secondary school students at both boards will return on Thursday (Feb 4) to coincide with the transition between Quadmesters or Octomesters.
Changes to safety regulations will now make it mandatory for students in Grades 1-3 to wear masks while in school.
All Grade 1-12 students learning in-person will now be required to wear a mask while outside when physical distancing cannot be maintained, including during recess, breaks, and outdoor learning activities.
Both boards remind parents and students to complete screening of themselves and/or their children before entering a school.
More safety measures to protect against COVID-19 in schools may be released today as Minister of Education Stephen Lecce and Dr. David Williams, the Provinces Chief Medical Officer of Health are set to make an announcement at 11 a.m. this morning.
