The province is reporting 975 new COVID-19 cases this morning with 12 deaths while Southwestern Public Health is reporting six new cases. Eleven cases were resolved.
There was one new case in St. Thomas with the remainder in Oxford County.
No new deaths were recorded and the toll remains at 67 since the pandemic began.
The seven-day rolling average remains at three new cases per day.
There are 35 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 17 in Woodstock, eight in St. Thomas, three in Ingersoll, two in Zorra, and one each in Malahide, West Elgin, Blandford-Blenheim, East Zorra-Tavistock and Tillsonburg.
There are three hospitalizations, two of whom are in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One staff member at Valleyview Home in St. Thomas has tested positive as has one resident at Aylmer Retirement Residence and 54 residents and 23 staff members at Caressant Care in Woodstock,
Twenty-seven of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those 12 are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 2,361.
There are 16.5 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 20.3 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 20.6 cases per 100,000 population and Aylmer has no ongoing cases.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 105 tests on Sunday.
