With increased temperatures and mixed precipitation over the next week, the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority has issued a watershed conditions statement for low-lying areas in the watershed. High rates of water flow, unsafe banks and melting ice could result in dangerous situations for anglers, boaters, children and pets.
The public is encouraged to exercise extreme caution around all creeks and waterways, and to keep children away from these hazardous areas during times of increased water flow.
No major flooding is expected at this time although water levels may rise above the seasonal average. The conservation authority will continue to monitor conditions and update as required.
The watershed conditions statement has no expiry date and will remain in effect until the hazard has passed or adjusted accordingly, if warranted.
