As COVID-19 case numbers began to soar at the Ontario Police College north of Aylmer late last week, the decision was made Friday to pause all in-person instruction for 14 days.
Over the weekend, the case count at the facility approached 60, pushing the number of ongoing cases in the Southwestern Public Health region to 84. As recently as last Wednesday the count had dropped to 28.
Brent Ross, Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General spokesman, noted anyone who had tested positive was now self-isolating. All staff and students were tested Thursday with results available shortly afterward.
Any recruits testing positive in the coming days will self-isolate at the college.
