The province is reporting 1,023 new COVID-19 cases this morning with six deaths while Southwestern Public Health is reporting just three new cases. Two cases were resolved. There was one new case in St. Thomas and another in Aylmer.
The death toll remains at 67 since the pandemic began.
The seven-day rolling average stays at 11 new cases per day.
There are 85 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 60 in Aylmer, 13 in Woodstock, three in St. Thomas, two in Blandford-Blenheim, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg and one each in Bayham, Central Elgin and West Elgin.
One individual is hospitalized in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One resident at Aylmer Retirement Residence has tested positive.
Eighty of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those eight are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 2,385.
There are 40.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 18.9 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 7.7 cases per 100,000 population and Aylmer has 800.9 cases per 100,000.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 133 tests on Saturday.
