The board of directors at St. Thomas AirFest have announced a special surprise for the city.
On April 10th, residents of St. Thomas will be able to look to the skies and take in ‘The AirFest Salute to All Essential Workers’.
The air parade which will take place in the comfort of our own homes is meant as a “thank you” to a community who has had to make many sacrifices over the past year.
Residents are encouraged to head out to their front or backyard and let the planes put on a show.
However, with the good news comes some tougher news as they also announce the postponement of AirFest 2021, that was set to take place from June 25-27th.
The cancellation comes at the guidance of federal, provincial and local health officials and out of an abundance of caution for volunteers, members, visitors, and the organizing committee.
Tickets that have already been purchased or issued for the event will be honored for next years scheduled date of June 24-26, 2022.
More information such as which aircrafts will be participating and what time we can expect the show to begin will be released in the coming weeks.
