A 37 year old St. Thomas man have been charged after a 51 year old woman was assaulted on Talbot Street Wednesday.
Police say that the man and woman were walking towards each other on the side walk in the area of John Street when the suspect spat on the female as they passed each other.
Officers were able to locate the man a short distance away where he was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 37 year old Joseph Kilbourne has been charged with one count of Assault and one count Breach of Probation.
Kilbourne was later released on an Undertaking with Court Date.
