The province is reporting 1,631 new COVID-19 cases this morning with 10 deaths while Southwestern Public Health is reporting eight new cases. Nineteen cases were resolved.
The death toll remains at 67 since the pandemic began.
The seven-day rolling average is now six new cases per day.
There are 61 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 29 in Aylmer, 14 in Woodstock, four in East Zorra-Tavistock, three in St. Thomas, Zorra, and Blandford-Blenheim, two in Norwich, and one each in Central Elgin, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
One individual is hospitalized in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One resident at Bethany Care Home in Norwich has tested positive as has one resident at Maples Retirement Home in Tavistock.
Fifty-two of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those five are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 2,449.
There are 28.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 27.6 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 7.7 cases per 100,000 population and Aylmer has 387.1 cases per 100,000.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 130 tests on Sunday.
