The province is reporting 1,185 new COVID-19 cases this morning with 6 deaths while Southwestern Public Health is reporting a single new case. Eighteen cases were resolved.
The death toll remains at 67 since the pandemic began.
The seven-day rolling average is now five new cases per day.
There are 44 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 17 in Aylmer, 10 in Woodstock, three in St. Thomas, East Zorra-Tavistock, Zorra and Norwich, two in Blandford-Blenheim, and one each in Central Elgin, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
One individual is hospitalized in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One resident at Bethany Care Home in Norwich has tested positive as has one resident at Maples Retirement Home in Tavistock.
Thirty-seven of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those three are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 2,467.
There are 20.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 29.0 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 7.7 cases per 100,000 population and Aylmer has 226.9 cases per 100,000.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 104 tests on Sunday.
