The Thames Valley District School Board has announced a positive case of COVID-19 at both Davenport Public School in Aylmer and South Dorchester Public School in Belmont.
The positive cases were confirmed by Southwestern Public Health and Thames Valley immediately notified staff, students, parents and guardians at both schools.
SWPH is currently investigating the cases and is in the process of identifying close contacts.
If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk.
Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days.
The cases are just the 2nd and 3rd confirmed school related cases in St. Thomas/Elgin County since children returned to the classroom following the extended Christmas break.
