Sherri Spanjers eagerly showed up for her 9 a.m. appointment today (Saturday) for her first COVID-19 vaccination. What she didn’t anticipate is Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek would be giving the Tillsonburg resident her COVID-19 jab.
Yurek, who is a pharmacist, volunteered at the clinic Saturday morning and earned a top mark of 10 from Spanjers for his professional manner.
“I didn’t feel a thing,” enthused Spanjers who works in a dental office in Tillsonburg and was anxious to get the shot.
Yurek stressed the sooner people are vaccinated, the sooner COVID-19 restrictions can be lifted.
Yurek added selected pharmacies in the Southwestern Public Health region will soon get the green light from the province to start vaccinations on site.
He stressed it does not matter what vaccine you receive, they are all safe.
The hold up so far, added Yurek, is getting vaccines into the province. Something he called “a frustration.”
Yurek noted, if you are having difficulty in booking an appointment, his office will offer assistance.
