A COVID-19 outbreak has officially been declared at Mitchell Hepburn Public School in St. Thomas.
The Southwestern Public Health Unit has reported at least 5 active cases of COVID-19 in the school community, with some cases linked to others.
The SWPH unit will only declare an outbreak at a school or facility if 2 or more cases are connected.
In a letter sent to the school community, SWPH has stated that those exposed to COVID-19 while at school are being tested and isolating at this time.
They also remind staff, students and parents that they only way to know if you or your child has COVID-19, is to get tested.
