The St. Thomas Police are actively searching for any witnesses of a fatal collision that occurred at the intersection of First Avenue and Redan Street Monday afternoon around 3:40 p.m.
Police say a 73 year old St. Thomas woman was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Redan Street northbound on the west side of First Avenue.
The woman was transported to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police continue to investigate and ask any witnesses to please contact them if you have not already done so. The STPS add that no further details regarding the pedestrian or the driver will be released at this time.
