Fire departments in St. Thomas and across Elgin county will benefit from almost $53,000 in provincial funding to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. The money is to be used to enhance fire safety training and support safety inspection programs to ensure compliance with the Ontario Fire Code.
It can also be used to support updates to specialized critical equipment, such as high-speed internet.
