Unexpected delays have pushed back reopening of the King George VI lift bridge in Port Stanley until late June.
It was hoped rehabilitation of the bridge, constructed in 1938, would be completed by the end of this month.
Disruptions to the supply chain due to COVID-19 restrictions have pushed back the completion date until June 25.
However with the Victoria Day long weekend coming up, one side of the bridge will be opened up to accommodate boaters.
The $5.8 million project is expected to extend the service life of the bridge for approximately 25 years.
