Beginning today at 8 a.m., all individuals 18 years of age and over can begin booking COVID-19 vaccination appointments.
Because 2.2 million doses of vaccine are expected to arrive this week, the province is able to push up eligibility criteria.
Appointments can be made through the provincial booking system or through Southwestern Public Health at covidvaccinelm.ca.
Those 17 years old that are turning 18 this year will receive the Pfizer vaccine, the only one approved for that age group.
The Ontario Government also announced that all youth 12 to 17 years of age will be eligible to book an appointment through the provincial system beginning May 31.
As of today, local health unit’s can choose to provide vaccines to those aged 12 and over in pop-up and mobile clinics, as well as for walk-in appointments where the Pfizer vaccine is offered.
