The Elgin County OPP continue to investigate a three vehicle collision that took place Tuesday afternoon on Centennial Ave.
Police say that a car travelling northbound on Centennial Ave was struck from behind by a commercial motor vehicle as it was attempting to turn left onto Wellington Street, resulting in the car being pushed into the path of a southbound vehicle, colliding head on with it.
The driver of the car, a 77 year old St. Thomas resident had to be extricated from the vehicle by Central Elgin Fire Services before they were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 74 year old Aylmer resident was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was not injured in the collision.
Centennial Ave was temporarily closed for investigation and reopened at approximately 4:40 p.m.
