UPDATE AS OF 3:30 P.M. MONDAY
At a media conference this afternoon, London Police chief Steve Williams advised, based on the investigation so far, the four people killed yesterday evening when struck by a vehicle were victims of an intentional act. The victims included a 74-year-old woman; 46-year-old male; 44-year-old woman; and 15-year-old female teenager all members of the same family. The only survivor, believed to be a young child, remains in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. London Mayor Ed Holder had this message for the Muslim community.
The accused is identified as 20 year-old Nathaniel Veltman of London. Williams says terrorism charges may be laid.

London Police are reporting multiple fatalities after several pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in the northwest end of the city last night.
The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Hyde Park and South Carriage roads.
Investigators say one pedestrian who was struck was pronounced dead at the scene, while a number of others later succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
An update from London Police says one adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene. One adult male, one adult female, and two children were transported to hospital by paramedic services. The two adults and one teenaged child succumbed to their injuries at hospital. The other child remains in hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
A 20-year-old London man was arrested a short time later without incident in the area of Oxford Street West and Cherryhill Boulevard.
He remains in custody at this time.
Hyde Park Road remains closed between Sarnia and Gainsborough roads. South Carriage Road remains closed between Prince of Wales Gate and Finley Crescent while officers continue to investigate.
