The Thames Valley District School Board will go ahead with the already planned virtual graduation ceremonies for Grades 8 and 12 students, while the board explores different options for additional in-person celebrations.
Education Director Mark Fisher said that the school board understands how important the chance to do in-person celebrations are for the students, staff and parents. Since the online ceremonies have already been planned, the board will go forward with those while they figure out what they can do in-person.
Director Fisher said that “with just weeks until the end of the school year, we are still waiting for details from the province about how in-person activities could take place while respecting existing public health guidelines.”
During this time, the Thames Valley Student Trustees’ will be reaching out to students for ideas on what activities and events could potentially take place, if they align with the Ministry guidance and public health measures.
