In an effort to support a local family going through a recent brain cancer diagnosis, Subzero Ice Cream Shop in St. Thomas is holding another community fundraiser this week.
The recipient this time around is 4 year old Alden, who has been diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a cancer that is usually found in your bones.
Co-owner Heather Payne says they were approached about providing a gift card for an auction in support of Alden’s Army but felt that they wanted to do more.
Payne says that since announcing the fundraiser, Century Sound, McBain’s Sign, Ewyn Weight Loss Studios, and The Streetery Food Truck have all pledged to makes donations.
She adds that it’s at times like these, you realize what a great community we do have here in St. Thomas and Elgin.
