Both the west and eastbound lanes of Highway 3 between Yarmouth Centre Road and Quaker Road remain closed following a two-vehicle collision this morning.
Elgin OPP report that a commercial motor vehicle carrying steel coils collided with a minivan in the intersection around 7:15 Thursday morning.
Both drivers were transported to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital with minor injuries.
As a result, the 59 year old driver of the minivan has been charged with Careless Driving.
OPP report that the road closure will remain in effect until the CMV and steel coils are removed from the road way.
