The province this morning is reporting 574 new COVID-19 cases with eight deaths. A total of 179 people across the province are in ICU.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting three new cases, with 17 resolved.
The death toll remains at 85 since the pandemic began.
There are 68 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 19 in Woodstock, eight in St. Thomas, six in Aylmer and Norwich, five in Blandford-Blenheim, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg, four in Bayham, two in Central Elgin, West Elgin and SW Oxford and single cases in Malahide, Dutton-Dunwich. East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra.
A total of 1,129 cases have been variants of concern with 305 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no active institutional cases.
There are five hospitalizations at this time, with four in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Forty-seven of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 10 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,083.
A total of 143,484 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 67.4 per cent.
There are 32.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 38.6 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 20.6 cases per 100,000 population and 80.1 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 124 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 70 on Friday.
