The province this morning is reporting 306 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest daily count since early August, with two deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 13 new cases with seven resolved.
There are four new cases in Bayham, three in Aylmer and one each in St. Thomas, West Elgin and Malahide.
The death toll remains at 87 since the pandemic began.
There are 93 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 14 in Aylmer, 13 in St. Thomas and Bayham, 11 in Woodstock, nine in Norwich, eight in Tillsonburg, six in SW Oxford, five in Dutton-Dunwich, three in Malahide, West Elgin, East Zorra-Tavistock and Ingersoll and a single case in Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra.
A total of 1,306 cases have been variants of concern with 482 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
Two residents and one staff member at Elgin Manor in Southwold have tested positive.
There are five hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Sixty-three of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 21 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,268.
A total of 149,162 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 70.1 per cent.
There are 44.0 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 31.1 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 33.4 cases per 100,000 population and 186.9 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 118 tests Monday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 45 on Friday.
