Putting the health and safety of the community and members of the service first, the St. Thomas Police Service has achieved 100 per cent COVID-19 vaccination compliance without having to resort to any disciplinary conditions.
And Tanya Calvert, Corporate Communications Coordinator with the St. Thomas Police Service, calls it a fantastic accomplishment.
All staff including police officers, civilian members and court support staff have received their first COVID-19 shot with only a few waiting on a second dose.
The service’s vaccination policy issued a deadline of October 15th for staff to provide proof of vaccination or request an exemption based on valid grounds.
The creation of the policy was based on the advice and recommendation of the Public Health Authorities and was developed in consultation with the St. Thomas Police Association and the St. Thomas Police Services Board.
