The province this morning is reporting 269 new COVID-19 cases, with six deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 19 new cases with 22 resolved.
The death toll remains at 90 since the pandemic began.
There are four new cases in Aylmer and Central Elgin, three in Bayham and two in St. Thomas.
There are 84 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 19 in Woodstock, 14 in Aylmer, eight in St. Thomas, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg, six in Norwich, five in Bayham, four in West Elgin, three in Central Elgin, SW Oxford and East Zorra-Tavistock, and one each in Malahide, Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra.
A total of 1,448 cases have been variants of concern with 619 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are three hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.6 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Sixty-three of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 28 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,449.
A total of 150,312 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 70.6 per cent.
There are 39.7 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 22.9 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 20.6 cases per 100,000 population and 186.9 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 64 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 22 on Wednesday.
